On a quiet island at the edge of the world, a nine-year-old bunny named Cherry is learning to be an apothecary, following in her grandfather's footsteps.
She doesn't know she's being watched. She doesn't know that the strange warmth she sometimes feels on her shoulder is a creature older than the island itself â lost, alone, and searching.
Quiet. Curious. Drawn to places others overlook. She follows instincts she doesn't understand.
Cherry's twin. She's been playing an incomplete song her whole life. She doesn't know why.
Warm and loving. A hint of sorrow behind her glasses. She knows more than she says.
Gruff. Deeply caring. He took Cherry as his apprentice to honour an old friend.
Stern and watchful. He patrols the island at dusk. He might recognise you from old stories.
Ancient. Alone. Unable to speak. You must find a way to be seen.
There is a cherry tree at the centre of the island that wasn't there before. It erupted from the earth violently, years ago, carrying two small children with it to the surface. No one speaks of it, but everyone remembers.
